To Dream of a Love Interest

Dreaming of being swept up in a fun romance can be exciting… unless it was with the one person you least expected.

Learn more about what it means when you dream about a romantic partner that’s:

a friend’s current partner 🔹 your ex 🔹 a friend 🔹 someone you barely know 🔹 someone you don’t like 🔹 a stranger 🔹 your crush 🔹 someone who likes you

A Friend’s Current Partner

Generally Speaking

Maybe you have a feeling of indifference towards them. As in, you’re not crushing on them or dislike them.

One Dream About Their Partner

Regardless of if you slept with the love interest in the dream or not, this dream symbolizes that you find something about the person to be admirable. They have some qualities that you would like to see in your current or future significant other.

Recurring Dreams About Their Partner

Again, this doesn’t have to be a sex dream. If you’re having recurring dreams about them, then you should pay close attention to their traits, whether it’s personality or physical traits. There’s something about them that’s desirable to you and well suited for you. It could be that you two are meant to be together, but it’s more likely that you’ll get along great dating someone that is similar to them.  Mostly because you’re attracted to certain parts of them instead of being attracted to them. If you already knew you were attracted to them before the dream, then keep reading.

If You were Already Crushing on Their Partner

You have to take a deep look in the mirror and confront your emotions for your friend’s significant other.

If You Don’t Like Their Partner

Dreams like these represent how your friend’s partner may be feeling dissatisfied at best and nefarious at worst towards their relationship with your friend. The friend’s significant other could be trying to hold on to their relationship in an unhealthy way. Such as trying to trap them with a baby or something else. It could also be a sign that their partner could be cheating on them or using them for personal gain. Whether they’re using your friend for their loving, nurturing spirit or good energy or using them for their money or resources.

Your Ex

Dreaming about an ex being your current boo can be dumbfounding and bring up some unsettling emotions or ignite an old flame. Regardless, dreaming about an ex can symbolize that a part of you, maybe a very very very small part, misses them, but you’re weary and protective of yourself. This dream is calling on you to think about what went right in that relationship and apply that knowledge to other parts of your life. As well as making peace with the unresolved emotions that you harbor towards your ex.

A Friend

Take risks in your career, because it will pay off in your favor. However, be weary of that newfound confidence turning into the desire to want to control everything. Being controlling in other aspects of your life, most notably your love life, may bring short term rewards, but in the long term, it can led to a negative change in the relationship. One that you’ll regret, like a breakup.

Someone You Barely Know

To accept or to reject, that’s the question. An ex is coming back into your life and a decision needs to be made. Are you going to let them back in or stop them in their tracks by cutting them off? If you decide to let them back into your life, you might find yourself back in each other’s hearts and beds. If possible, you and your partner might end up pregnant and having to make another decision- to get married, raise the child without getting married, or explore your other options. If pregnancy is far from a possibility, then you might find yourselves eloped, starting a business together, or pushing people or opportunities away to make more time for this relationship. Regardless, you may avoid these paths by not letting your ex back into your life romantically.

Someone You Don’t Like

It can be startling to dream of being romantically tied to someone you can’t stand. Some might even prefer to call this a nightmare instead of a dream. In your dream, you stepped outside your comfort zone, so take this as a message to step out of your comfort zone in real life and put yourself out there to try new things.

A Stranger

A big change is coming in your love life. A change that will push you closer towards your dream relationship. This could be a break up or meeting someone that you’re interested in dating.

Types of Changes: a breakup, an engagement/marriage, relationship picks up pace, or you meet/start dating someone new

Is the stranger that you saw in your dream going to be the person that you start dating? It depends on if you have that psychic gift. If you don’t have that psychic ability, that’s okay. It just means that the stranger was a placeholder, a symbol of desirable change.

Your Crush

Now is the time to face your feelings head on. Maybe you express to your crush that you have feelings for them, or maybe you find another way to pry how they feel about you out of them. Either way, you need to know where you stand with them. Whether the feeling is mutual and you try to see if a relationship will withstand, or you move on to someone else.

Someone Who Likes You

Someone who likes you, but you don’t like them back.

As odd as this dream can be, it means that your hard work has paid off. So don’t stress yourself out, because the offer, acceptance letter, proposal, etc. that you’ve been working towards is coming soon. The other party is just trying to tie up some loose strings, but rest assured, there are people speaking highly of you.

Author & Owner: Ale (all-ee)

For several years, I remember having vivid dreams and then seeing those dreams play out in real life. I didn’t think anything of it as I assumed everyone had visions like that. To this day, I still believe that everyone has the ability to tap into that part of themselves.

I’ve been practicing tarot since 2019 and enjoy writing and publishing books and screenplays. :)
